      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

           I have worked with enough bodies to know this: the body doesn’t lie.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           It may not say what it’s carrying out loud. It may not announce it with words. But it shows up — in the way you brace before a step, in the tightness you can’t stretch out, in the exhaustion that sleep never quite fixes. The body is always speaking. The question is whether we’re listening.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           As a functional movement and mindset expert, I’ve had the privilege of sitting with people in some of their most vulnerable moments — not just physically, but emotionally.  And what I’ve seen, over and over, is that so much of what we feel in our bodies isn’t just physical. It’s the weight of what we’ve been through, what we’re afraid of, and the stories we’ve quietly told ourselves for years.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           May is Mental Health Awareness Month.  And I want to talk about something we don’t discuss enough: what fear — unaddressed, unnamed, and unprocessed — does to the body. Not just your thoughts. Your actual, physical body.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           I want to share two stories. Names and details have been changed to protect privacy, but the experiences are real. And I have a feeling at least one of them will feel familiar.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h2&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           Story One: The Woman Who Was Still Bracing
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h2&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h2&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h2&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           She came to me looking for help with her movement. On paper, there wasn’t anything dramatically wrong — no major injury, no diagnosis. But the moment she started to move, I saw it.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Her whole body was braced. She shuffled when she walked. She made herself smaller — shoulders forward, head down, steps short and cautious — as if she were moving through a world that might hurt her at any moment.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           As we worked together, her story slowly emerged. She had lived in fear. Not fear of falling — fear of a person. Fear that had once been entirely justified. Her body had learned, at a very deep level, to stay small, to stay guarded, to stay ready.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The danger had long since passed. But her nervous system didn’t know that. Every night, the dreams still came. Every day, her body carried a threat that no longer existed — except in the cellular memory of her muscles and her breath.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Her body wasn’t broken. It had been brilliantly protective. But that protection, held too long without release, had become its own kind of prison.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Her body was still bracing for a danger that was gone. Nobody had told it that she was finally safe.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h2&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           Story Two: The Woman Who Stopped Reaching
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h2&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h2&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h2&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The second woman came to me differently. No dramatic backstory on the surface. Just a quiet sense that her body had been letting her down for a while. She was tired. Stiff. Disconnected from herself in a way she couldn’t quite name.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           As we talked, what came out wasn’t a story about her body at all. It was a story about a feeling she’d carried for as long as she could remember: the feeling that she was never quite enough. Not enough for her family. Not enough for the people she loved. Not worthy of taking up space, asking for help, or investing in herself.  So she’d stopped reaching for things she wanted. For support. For her own well-being. She had quietly made herself smaller — not in the way her body moved, but in the way she moved through her own life.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           And the body, as it always does, reflected it back. The stiffness wasn’t just physical. The disconnection wasn’t random. Her body was expressing, with perfect accuracy, the emotional weight she had never given herself permission to put down.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Fear of not being enough had slowly shrunk her world — and her body had followed.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h2&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           Different Fears. Same Body Response.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h2&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h2&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h2&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Two different women. Two different stories. Two different flavors of fear. And yet their bodies told remarkably similar stories: guarded, contracted, disconnected, and exhausted.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           This is what unprocessed emotion does to the physical body. Fear doesn’t just live in your mind — it lives in your muscles, your breath, your posture, your movement patterns. Over time, it changes the way you inhabit yourself.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           This isn’t weakness. This is what it means to be a human being who has been through hard things. The body holds what the heart hasn’t had the space to process. And here’s what I want you to hear: what we think about, we move toward — for better or for worse. The fear we carry becomes the lens through which our body sees the world. But it doesn’t have to stay that way.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h2&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           You Can Put It Down
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h2&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h2&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h2&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           When I work with someone through my Pain Reframe Method, we start with one simple but powerful step: we get curious about what’s really there. Not to dwell on it. Not to relive it. But to finally name it — because what we can name, we can begin to release.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           We work through five steps together: Reveal what’s really underneath the pain. Release the emotional weight the body has been holding. Restore natural, fluid movement. Reframe the limiting beliefs that have been quietly running the show. And finally — Reclaim your strength, your confidence, and your life.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Both of the women I described above did this work. And both of them, in their own time and their own way, began to soften. To breathe more fully. To move with more ease. Not because the past disappeared — but because their bodies finally had permission to stop carrying it alone.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Healing isn’t about becoming fearless. It’s about not letting fear be the one in the driver’s seat.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h2&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;/h2&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           When you sit for long periods of time, several things happen inside your body. Your hip flexors shorten, which can create tight hips and contribute to lower back pain. Your glutes become inactive, meaning the muscles that should support your hips and spine stop doing their job effectively.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Your upper back rounds forward, which often leads to neck tension and shoulder discomfort. Even your breathing changes. Sitting and leaning forward can compress the diaphragm, leading to shallow breathing that keeps your body in a low-level stress state.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Your nervous system eventually accepts this position as normal.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           This isn’t weakness.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           It isn’t failure.
          &#xD;

           It’s simply adaptation.

           But if nothing changes, the small warning signs your body gives you can grow into bigger problems.

      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           When the “Whispers” Turn Into Pain
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;

           At first, the signals are subtle.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           A little stiffness in the morning.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           Tight hips after a long day.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           A sore neck after working at the computer.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           But over time, those whispers can become louder:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Tight hips can turn into lower back pain

           Public Speaking and Find My Voice
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h3&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           I still remember dancing backstage, trying to shake off my nerves before stepping onto the stage at That’s What She Said – Naperville.  My breathing was shallow, my thoughts were racing, and one of the producers had to gently pull me aside and help me slow my breath.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The ironic part? I help people find calm.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           But growth doesn’t mean you never get scared — it means you show up anyway.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Earlier that year, I had watched colleagues stand on stage and share their stories with honesty and vulnerability. I was inspired. I remember thinking, I want to do that. I want to be brave like that.  Seeing them gave me permission to imagine myself on that stage too.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           I actually knew about Toastmasters long before I joined.  A friend had been involved for years and often encouraged me.  At the time, though, my kids were younger and I needed to be home more.  It simply wasn’t the right season yet. Sometimes growth isn’t about saying “no,” it’s about saying “not yet.”
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h2&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           Saying Yes at the Right Time
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h2&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           In August 2024, I finally joined Toastmasters. I didn’t join because I suddenly felt fearless — I joined because I was tired of letting fear make my decisions.  I wanted to become clearer, more confident, and more comfortable speaking in front of people I didn’t know.  At my very first meeting, I won Table Topics (It felt like I was answering a question, like a Miss Universe pageant). It was a small, unexpected win, but it meant a lot. It felt like confirmation that I had taken a step I’d been postponing for too long.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Then in April 2025, I took another leap and participated in
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           That’s What She Said
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           . (Think vulnerable storytelling for women).  That event wasn’t just about telling a story — it was about proving to myself that I could stand in vulnerability and still be okay.  Toastmasters gave me the practice ground; the stage gave me the courage test.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h2&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           What Changed for Me
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h2&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Toastmasters didn’t magically erase my nerves, but it gave me tools, repetition, and a supportive environment to grow. Over time, I noticed real changes:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            More confidence speaking at workshops and networking events
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Clearer communication and fewer filler words (I’m still working on “so”)
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            A willingness to raise my hand instead of shrinking back
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Taking a leadership role as VP of Public Relations — something I would have talked myself out of before
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ul&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           One of my biggest fears inside the club was taking on the evaluator role. I worried I wouldn’t have enough helpful feedback to give or that I’d say the wrong thing. I was uncomfortable… and I did it anyway. Now it’s something I genuinely enjoy because I’ve learned that thoughtful feedback helps others grow just as much as speaking helps me.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

           More Than Public Speaking

           For a long time, I stayed in the background. I worked behind the scenes and convinced myself that was enough. But the truth is, I wanted to be seen. I have goals, a business, and a message that deserves space.

            You don’t need to feel fully ready. Confidence is often built

           after

    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            action, not before it.  Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is simply raise your hand and say yes.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h2&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           Coming Full Circle
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h2&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           I still get nervous from time to time — especially when I’m talking about something personal or vulnerable. But I’ve learned that nerves aren’t a sign to stop; they’re a sign that it matters. How I show up matters.  If I didn’t care, I wouldn’t feel that energy at all.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           I’ve only been part of Toastmasters for about a year and a half, but the consistency of showing up, standing in front of a room, and practicing again and again has steadily built my confidence. The fear doesn’t disappear overnight, but it softens every time I take the mic.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           So yes, I may still dance backstage sometimes.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           But now it’s less about panic and more about reminding myself:
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           I’m human.  I care.  And I’m ready.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

           Where did the time go?
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           Why do my days feel so full, yet sometimes so disconnected?
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           Am I living with intention—or simply moving from one responsibility to the next?
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Living on purpose doesn’t mean doing more. It means slowing down long enough to question why we do what we do—and whether it still serves the person we are today.

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

           When Life Becomes Habit Instead of Intention
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h2&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h2&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h2&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           So many women, especially as we age, carry full plates. Family responsibilities. Work. Businesses. Caregiving. Commitments we’ve said yes to out of habit, not alignment. There never seems to be enough time to do it all.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Living on autopilot often shows up quietly:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Saying yes to everything, even when your plate is already full
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Reaching for fast food because it’s quick and easy
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Drinking coffee several times a day just to push through
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Telling yourself you’re “less than” because you feel behind or exhausted
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ul&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           These habits don’t mean you’re failing—they mean you’ve been surviving. But when we stop questioning why we live the way we do, our energy slowly drains. We stop showing up as our best selves. And eventually, our bodies and emotions ask for attention.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h2&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           Listening When the Body Speaks
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h2&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h2&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h2&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           I learned this lesson the hard way.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Years ago, I was preparing to go on a cruise—something meant to be relaxing and joyful. Instead, I was overwhelmed with stress. I felt responsible for making sure everything was done before I left.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Not only did I need to make sure my family was taken care of, but I also felt pressure to have my
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           entire business prepared and running smoothly
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            so I could step away for five days without anything falling apart.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           I didn’t want to let anyone down.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           My body stepped in when my mind wouldn’t. I developed vertigo.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           That experience taught me something powerful: stress and misalignment always show up somewhere—physically, emotionally, or both—when we ignore our own needs for too long.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h2&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           Purpose Has No Expiration Date
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h2&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h2&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h2&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           As we enter a new year, I want you to hear and see this clearly:

           Living on purpose has no expiration date.

           Purpose isn’t about age. It isn’t about productivity or checking boxes. Purpose is about awareness. It’s about living with intention, curiosity, and compassion for yourself.

            Listening to your body’s signals instead of pushing past them

      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Asking for support instead of carrying everything alone
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           These small choices shape how we age, how we feel, and how we show up in our lives.

            Instead of traditional New Year’s resolutions that feel heavy or unrealistic, I invite you to choose

    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           intention
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;

           Do you want to feel calmer? More connected? Stronger in your body? More aligned in your life?

           Intentional living doesn’t require drastic change. Often, it starts with one small shift—pausing before saying yes, questioning long-standing habits, or allowing yourself to receive support.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Reaching out for emotional healing, guidance, or community support can open your eyes to new possibilities. It helps reduce stress, create clarity, and reminds you that you’re not meant to navigate life alone.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

           It’s December, I can’t help but reflect on how much the holidays have changed over the years.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Thanksgiving and Christmas are my favorite times of the year. My parents both came from large families, so the holidays were filled with aunts, uncles, cousins — SO MUCH FAMILY  — all packed into one house well into the night or the early morning hours. The air buzzed with laughter and the food seemed endless.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            I can still picture it: sitting on the floor around the
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           coffee table
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            in the family room, eating, laughing, and talking about complete nonsense — the kind of silly conversations that made your stomach hurt from too many belly laughs. I can still hear my aunts urging me to eat more (it’s a Filipino thing, after all), my dad’s voice mingling with the sound of mahjong tiles clicking, and my mom telling stories about my brother and me, her laughter wrapping around the room like music.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           I miss my parents.....

           When Togetherness Changes

           Somewhere along the way, things started to shift. Maybe it was after COVID, maybe it’s just the rhythm of life — people growing older, moving away, or loved ones passing on. What once felt effortless now takes a little more intention to make happen outside of the ‘typical’ holiday. It seems like we all slipped into our own little bubbles and never fully came back out. I know I’m not the only one who feels this — that quiet sadness when you realize the holidays aren’t quite what they used to be.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           There’s a loneliness that can creep in during this season, especially for those of us who remember what it used to feel like to have a house full of family, noise, and laughter.

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           Finding Healing in the Quiet

    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            These days, I use my

           When I feel those waves of grief or longing, I pause and reach out — to a friend, a loved one, or my community. Because what I’ve realized is that connection still exists, it just looks a little different now. It’s in the text from a friend checking in or the small circle that shows up for coffee or a shared meal

           It might not be the big, bustling family gatherings of the past, but there’s still warmth to be found — if we open our hearts to it.

           Choosing Presence Over Perfection

           This season, I’m focusing on the gift of presence — slowing down, breathing deeply, and being grateful for the people I do have around me. Because even when things don’t look the same, love is still here. Connection is still here.

           If you’ve ever woken up feeling stiff or noticed your knees or hips complaining after sitting too long, you’re not alone. Our joints are designed for movement — and when they don’t get it, they start to let us know.

           There’s a saying I love: “Motion is lotion.” Every time we move, we circulate synovial fluid, the body’s natural lubricant that nourishes our joints and helps everything glide smoothly. When we stay still for too long, that “lotion” thickens and movement becomes harder, which can lead to pain, stiffness, and a sense of being “stuck.”

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           As a functional movement and mindset expert  — Using my Pain Reframe Method, I help people with chronic pain rediscover freedom in their bodies. So often, pain isn’t just a signal that something’s “wrong”; it’s your body’s way of asking for attention, awareness, and gentle movement.            My journey into this work has been shaped by a deep belief that healing is possible at any age and at any stage. I’ve seen first-hand how quickly things can shift—whether it’s a simple movement that eases pain in minutes, or releasing an old trapped emotion that brings surprising peace. These moments light me up, and they remind me that we don’t have to live weighed down by what’s limiting us.
